" Foloan is the chinese Name of Hulu Terengganu"
A new trail that newly introduced to Terengganu is Foloan Trail . Focusing at Kuala Berang, This Trail offer a new mixed experience to those who looking for new faces of Terengganu .
Our First destination was " Pasar Ratu" the new brand name for "pasar tani" at Kuala Berang. The name of Pasar ratu represent this market that open in Wednesday( rabu) and Saturday( sabtu). combining "rabu" and "sabtu", it get the name of Ratu. Additionally , ratu is represent "permaisuri", or the head of women, and several local people that sell at this market was the women seller, hence, the name is suit for that. and actually there one shop at there already have the name of "RATU".
Our Next Destination was " Batu Bersurat Kuala Berang" . A very good and interesting story of this " Batu Bersurat" that presented by Local people that train to give information to the tourist. Hired as security to this place, this local people able to deliver a very live story to the visitor who want to explore this place.
- with the founder of this place, Terengganu was claimed to be the first place Islam came to Tanah Melayu. This Memorial used to be put at the museum, but it was moved to the district where it was found to let visitor to feel the place.
Then, we move to the third destination of Tuntung conservation Center ( Pusat Konservasi Tuntung). This Tuntung live at river habitat, and this place under the Perhilitan is always open for those who want to learn about this Tuntung and several other species that available at this place. And if you are lucky, you will get the experience of release the baby Tuntung to the river. A great memoir for those who love to feel the environment...
Then, we were served with the best local food at Kampung Betong . Having the local food of "nasi putih, ikan baung , kerabu pucuk paku, rebung masak lemak putih and jering" this will be the best menu that should try when you at Hulu Terengganu
The next activity was the new product that introduce" fly fishing" at kampung Betong..is actually suit to the nature lover and fishers... the best place to relax your mind, the best place to get the fresh air and of course the best place for natural reflexology... with the concept of "catch and release", this place is manage by the local people... " let the fisher feel of holding the fish.. then please release it back to it habitat"... good to know "ikan sianggang" even though cannot see it.. next year, the international fly fish events will be held at this place .. so let the professional do their job...
the best thing we do here... walking along the river, stepping into the river stone and sand.. was really relaxing and refreshing.. "
The last place before we heading back to our place, we went to Felda Mengkawang Terengganu... Have been awarded as the fifth place for the beautiful Felda .. It can be introduced for farm stay / agrotourism or day trip exploring the Felcra Live..
The best and memorable experience for all of us to have this educational tour exploring the Foloan Trail.. "the new attraction usually fresh with nature and culture"...
